Day 35

Theme: Care for Extended Family

Scriptures:

[Deuteronomy 5:16]

"Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you."

[1 Timothy 5:3-4]

Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.

Prayer Subjects:

1. Ask for forgiveness if we have not honoured and loved our elderly parents or relatives

2.For God's love to touch the many who are aged and are living without care from their loved ones

3.For all Christian families who care for the elderly and aged that they will model and showcase a loving, caring and compassionate community

4. More Christian homes to care for the elderly and sick to be established

Personals:

Deep down my heart I seriously acknowledge that my compassion and love for my relatives and grandparents just don't exist. I repent, LORD for the lack of love instilled in me. Father LORD, blessed those who are abandoned intentionally or unintentionally by their loved ones, and may the Christian families around lend a hand in rebuilding their broken hearts. I pray LORD, that your people will establish homes to cater for the elderly and sick and that Your blessing be upon them. In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
