Day 18

Theme: Government's Role for the Migrants

Scriptures:

[Psalms 72:1-4]

Endow the king with your justice, O God,
the royal son with your righteousness.
He will judge your people in righteousness,
your afflicted ones with justice.
The mountains will bring prosperity to the people,
the hills the fruit of righteousness.
He will defend the afflicted among the people
and save the children of the needy;
he will crush the oppressor.

[Psalms 72:12-14]

For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
He will take pity on the weak and the needy
and save the needy from death.
He will rescue them from oppression and violence,
for precious is their blood in his sight.

[Jeremiah 22:3]

This is what the LORD says: Do what is right. Rescue from the hand of his oppressor the one who has been robbed. Don no wrong or violence to the alien, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

Prayer Subjects:

1. Pray that all rampant abuses against the migrants will cease

2. Th government to sincerely take steps to look into the plight and welfare of the migrants

3. Wisdom for the authorities to deal with rising criminal activities among the immigrants

Personals:

As I said yesterday, we are migrants if we leave this place of ours, our home, and if we are to be rampantly abused, will we feel good? So, why do it to them? The government plays an important role to safeguard the interest of the migrants as well, we need hospitality in this land to cater for this group of people. Rising criminal rates are conspicuous, but what are the factors that underlies in the depths? Could it be that they had no choice? In Jesus' Mighty name, I pray for your anointing among the government to care and love these people, and for people to lend out helping hands. AMEN
